FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are MHSS services provided?
Services are primarily community-based and may take place in the individual's home or other appropriate community settings based on treatment needs.
Is MHSS the same as therapy?
No. MHSS focuses primarily on teaching, restoring, and reinforcing functional skills related to successful community living.
Can MHSS staff help with appointments and community activities?
Services may incorporate real-world activities when they are directly connected to an individual's treatment goals and used to teach or practice identified skills.
How do I know if someone qualifies?
MHSS has specific clinical and program eligibility requirements. Envision's intake team can review a referral and help determine the appropriate next step.
Can someone receive MHSS forever?
MHSS is goal-oriented. Services should continually focus on measurable progress, skill development, and increasing independence based on the individual's needs and treatment plan.
